GREEN LONG LIFE VEHICLE - (With Jet Engine)
Stage 1 - Develop the Green Fuel System
(So far I have been funding this project myself. This project will be done more quickly if I have a little extra funding from individuals and governments. If I can get some funding from individuals it will help my application for government and corporate funding. I am also in contact with a biodiesel company that wants to fund my KubVan. They also want to supply me with corporate advertising to put on my KubVan.)
This is a simplest part project and the most exiting.
This stage will develop a demonstration vehicle with an onboard Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO) system, and get experience working with an aluminum unibody vehicle. I anticipate that some companies would want to have their step vans converted to WVO. Step vans are VERY well suited to be converted to WVO. Vehicles converted to WVO would be GREAT green advertising, but could be operated on dirty WVO, or clean straight vegetable oil (SVO), or biodiesel, or petroleum diesel. What this means is that a company could convert a vehicle for promotion purposes to be able to run on WVO or SVO but run the vehicle on biodiesel or normal diesel.
I have many domain names that could be used to promote this project and sell conversion kits that could be installed by the company that does the vehicle modifications.
The plan would be to use my second KubVan for this project. It is possible to put a 46 - 52 inch LCD TV on each side and on the rear door. I have been to Future Shop. I was told that an LCD TV could be seen on a sunny day. An LCD TV would work. LCD TVs only have a few problems. They must not be subjected to high acceleration or be operated if very cold. The TVs would need to have suspension between them and the van body. The KubVan would also need a Webasto or Espar heater to run 24 hours a day in winter. I can get free biodiesel so this extra fuel is not an extra expense.
How the Waste Vegetable Oil System Works.
Vegetable oil must be warm enough to flow like diesel it can be used in a diesel engine like diesel. A solid lump of lard or shortening can not be pumped to the fuel injectors until it is warmed. If the vegetable (or animal) has the same viscosity as diesel and can be pumped to the injectors it can be burned as fuel. If the fuel injectors with have greater inside diameter are vegetable oil at room temperature can be used. In the past it was required to heat oil to 160 F for it have the same viscosity as diesel fuel. Today temperatures lower than 60 F oil can be used.
WVO typically comes from deep fat fryers. This oil is contaminated with water, dirt and food particles. It is easy to condition the oil so that it is clean and able to be used as fuel.
The vehicle would require 3 tanks. It will have one 20 gallon tank for dirty WVO, one 20 gallon tank
for clean oil, and one tank for biodiesel or diesel fuel.
How the vehicle would works
In Summer the vehicle could be started and run on diesel, biodiesel from tank 1, or from the conditioned veggy oil from tank 2. The waste heat from the engine would be used to heat the dirty WVO in tank 3. The heated WVO would be continually filtered until it is clean. While the WVO is hot the tank would also be ventilated so the water would evaporate from the veggy oil. This would be a Zero Carbon Foot Print Vehicle.
In Winter the vehicle could ONLY be stared on diesel or biodiesel from tank 1. The waste engine heat would be used to heat the clean veggy oil in tank 2. When the heated veggy oil in tank 2 is warm the engine would automatically switch to run on the veggy oil. The waste heat would still be used to condition the veggy oil in tank 3.
