GREEN FUELS

GREEN LONG LIFE VEHICLE - (With Jet Engine)

So called Green Fuels are not all created equal. Everyone seems to have their favorite fuels. Some so called green fuels may not be very green.

My Definition of a Green Fuel

A green fuel is a fuel, that is made from waste or from a renewable resource.

Examples

Fuel
Green
NOT Green
Hydrogen Hydrogen is Green if it is made from wind, solar, or any other green energy source Hydrogen is not Green if it is made from a fossil fuel like methane.

      Possible Green Fuels

WVO (Waste Vegetable Oil)
This is a Very GREEN fuel because it is waste and it is from a renewable resource. Waste veggy oil should be used by at its source. It should not be transported to a factory if possible. It would be best if WVO vehicles could pickup dirty WVO from restaurants and clean the fuel on board.

SVO (Straight Vegetable Oil)
This is a Green Fuel because it is not made from waste, but is from a renewable resource. It would be nice if farmers grew seeds and made their own oil to run their machinery and vehicles.

Biodiesel
This is a very light green Fuel, because it needs to be processed from veggy oil and methanol, but it does come from a renewable resource. Biodiesel is low in sulfur but does require a factory. SVO is a greener fuel than Biodiesel.

Electricity
Electricity can be very green, but call also be produced with coal. People seem to like wind electricity, but the peak energy useage is not windy. High energy use occurs when it is very cold or very hot. During these times it is clear and calm. We might need more solar voltaic collectors.

Hydrogen
I do not consider Hydrogen to be a fuel. I conquered Hydrogen to be a storage medium. Hydrogen is just a different way of storing fossil or solar energy. ALL Hydrogen is made from energy from electricity, or from methane or some other fossil fuel. Hydrogen does not occur in nature for a reason. ALL Hydrogen will escape into outer space eventually. Hydrogen nuclei will reach escape velocity at room temperature. Hydrogen is a BAD OPTION.

Methanol
Methanol can be a green fuel. Methanol can be made from corn or other sugars, or cellulose. This is a very energy intensive process. Mixing Methanol with gasoline is a good way to green up gasoline. Gasoline engines are very difficult to make green. Vehicles should use engines that can use a different fuel.

However it is possible to make Methanol. First you make Methane from Carbon Dioxide and water. Second you add a little more water to get Methanol. This process can be done using electricity. This would be a good option if a remote site like Mars wanted to store liquid energy.

Methane
Methane is a fossil fuel. It is not green. It is clean burning.

However it is possible to make Methane from Carbon Dioxide and water. Second you add a little more water to get Methanol. This process can be done using electricity. This would be a good option if a remote site like Mars wanted to store energy as compressed gas.
